A fire has ripped through a top-floor flat in Fife, with locals urged to avoid the area.
Emergency services were called to a property on Abbotsford Court in Glenrothes at around 11.45am on Wednesday following reports of a fire.
Officers have shut down the nearby Abbotsford Drive and urged residents in the north of the town to close their windows and doors.
Images taken from the scene show flames bursting from the flat window and smoke billowing into the sky.
No one is believed to have suffered any injuries.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers in Glenrothes are assisting SFRS at a fire on Abbotsford Court, which was reported around 11.45am. There are no reported injuries.
“The road at Abbotsford Drive is closed and residents in the north Glenrothes area are advised to keep windows and doors shut and avoid the area.”
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 11.26am on Thursday, 31 October to reports of a flat fire in Glenrothes.
“Operations Control mobilised seven fire appliances to the town’s Abbotsford Drive, where firefighters remain working to extinguish the fire.
“There are no reported casualties.”
