A man has been charged in connection with an alleged breach of the peace after the Duke of York was heckled during the procession of the Queen’s coffin in Edinburgh.
Videos on social media showed a man shouting at Prince Andrew before being dragged to the ground by bystanders.
The incident occurred as large crowds gathered to witness the monarch’s coffin being carried up the Royal Mile on Monday.
A 22-year-old man was subsequently arrested and charged with alleged breach of the peace.
He was released by police on an undertaking to appear in court at a later date.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A 22-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with a breach of the peace on the Royal Mile around 2.50pm on Monday, September 12.
“He was released on an undertaking to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court at a later date and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
No other arrests have been made in relation to the incident.
