Man, 32, charged after 'wielding crossbow in garden'

A man has been charged after allegedly wielding a crossbow within a garden in Midlothian.

Emergency services were called to a property on Bogwood Road in Dalkeith after reports of concern for a man with a weapon in his garden at around 2.30pm on Monday.

It is understood that he was in possession of a crossbow. A 32-year-old man was charged in connection with the incident.

He is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Tuesday.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 2.30pm on Monday, March 24, 2025, officers were called to Bogwood Road, Dalkeith, after receiving a report of concern for a man with a weapon in his garden.

“A 32-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection and is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Tuesday, March 25, 2025.”
