Police have issued a plea for witnesses to come forward, including those with dash-cam footage.

A 62-year-old man has been taken to hospital following a crash in the Scottish Borders.

Emergency services were called out to the A701 on Sunday just before 5pm to reports of a motorbike crash near Tweedsmuir.

The man was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment.

Sergeant David Waddell of the Road Policing Unit said: “Our investigations are ongoing, and we would appeal to anyone who witnessed the crash take place, who has not yet spoken to police, to contact us.

“We are also keen to obtain any dash-cam from motorists driving on the road around the time of the crash.

“We would like to thank the members of the public who assisted at the scene of the crash this morning.

“Anyone with information should contact officers through 101 with reference 2627 of October 1.”
