A man has died, and another has been airlifted to hospital following a crash near Amulree.
Police were called to the A822 around 12.20pm on Friday following reports of a single-vehicle collision.
A 78-year-old man, who was driving the Volkswagen van, was pronounced dead at the scene.
One of the passengers, a 58-year-old man, was taken to Ninewells Hospital by air ambulance.
The other occupants were checked over by paramedics at the scene.
The road was closed while a crash investigation was carried out and reopened around 7.30pm.
Investigations remain ongoing.
Sergeant John McDiarmid said: “My thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died in this collision, as well as those who were in the van.
“While we’ve spoken to a number of witnesses already, I’d appeal to anyone else who saw what happened, or the vehicle before the crash, to come forward.
“Can I also please ask anyone with private CCTV, doorbell or dash-cam footage of the A822 area to review this and bring anything of significance to our attention.”
