An elderly man has died following a car crash near a golf club in Forfar.
Emergency services were called to a crash involving a blue Audi Q3 on the A932, near Forfar Golf Club, at around 9.30pm on Wednesday.
The 89-year-old driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The road was closed while investigations were carried out and reopened at around 6.15am on Thursday.
Sergeant John McDiarmid said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who has died.
“Enquiries are ongoing and we are appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash, who has not yet spoken to officers, to contact us.
“We’d also ask anyone with dash-cam footage to come forward.”
