Google MapsA man has appeared in court charged with murder after a body was discovered inside a burnt-out flat in Dumfries and Galloway on Tuesday.
Officers were made aware of a fire at a property on Lady Street in Annan around 6.55am on Tuesday, November 19.
Emergency services attended and the fire was extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.
The body of a 58-year-old man was found within.
Gabriel Brown, 33, appeared at Dumfries Sheriff Court on Thursday, November 21, charged with murder.
He also faced a charge of wilful fire raising. Brown made no plea and was remanded in custody.
He is due back in court within the next eight days.
