Police ScotlandA man has been charged with murder following the death of a woman at a property in West Lothian.
Police were called to a disturbance at a property on Cunnighar Road, Broxburn, at around 7.55pm on Sunday.
Chitsidzo (Veronica) Chinyanga, from Zimbabwe, was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh where she later died.
Kasikai Chinyanga was arrested and charged in connection with the 42-year-old’s death.
He appeared at Livingston Sheriff Court on Tuesday charged with murder.
STV NewsThe 46-year-old made no plea and was remanded in custody.
He is due to appear before court again within the next eight days.
In a statement released through Police Scotland, Ms Chinyanga’s family said: “Veronica was a much-loved mum, sister, niece and mother to all, who will be missed dearly by many.
“We would ask that we are given privacy to come to terms with our loss at this time.”
