A man has been charged two months after a deliberate fire in Edinburgh connected to an ongoing gang war in Scotland’s central belt.
It comes after officers and multiple police vehicles were seen at a property in the Muirhouse Drive area of the city at around 6pm on Sunday.
Police confirmed a 26-year-old man was arrested at the property in connection with outstanding warrants.
Owen Logan, from Edinburgh, appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday and was charged in connection with a deliberate fire in Edinburgh’s Albert Street on Thursday, March 6.
An 18-year-old and a 24-year-old were also previously charged in connection with the blaze.
The fire is believed to be connected to ongoing gang violence across the central belt, including other fire-raisings and the discharge of firearms.
Logan made no plea during his appearance in court. He was committed for further examination and remanded in custody.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A 26-year-old man was arrested in connection with outstanding warrants after officers attended a property in the Muirhouse Drive area of Edinburgh around 6pm on Sunday, June 15, 2025.
“He has also been charged in connection with a wilful fire at a premises in Albert Street in Edinburgh on Thursday, March 6.
“He is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today, Monday, June 16.”
