A man has been charged after cannabis worth £895,000 was seized in Edinburgh.

Officers executed warrants at Salamander Street, Breadalbane Street and Western Harbour Way in the city on Tuesday.

Police Scotland confirmed a 48-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with drugs offences.

He is expected to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Wednesday.

Detective Inspector Gavin Howatt said: “This significant recovery demonstrates the ongoing efforts to combat serious and organised in Edinburgh.

“We remain committed to the Serious and Organised Crime Taskforce and Scotland’s Serious and Organised Crime Strategy.

“Information from the public is vital in helping us target those involved in the supply of drugs. Anyone with concerns about drugs in their area is encouraged to contact police on 101, or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
