A man has been charged after an armed robbery in West Lothian as £2,000 in cash was stolen from a shop.

The incident took place at a premises on Lower Bathville in Armadale around 8.20pm on Thursday.

A man threatened staff with a weapon before stealing approximately £2,000 in cash.

No one was injured as a result.

Police confirmed a 46-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection.

He is due to appear at Livingston Sheriff Court on Monday, June 30.
