A man has been charged after armed police sealed off roads in Edinburgh on Saturday, with a woman and a baby taken to hospital.
Firearms and specialist officers were called to a report of a disturbance at a property on St Leonard’s Street around 9am on Saturday.
Homes were evacuated as emergency services responded, and a 46-year-old man arrested in connection with the incident has now been charged.
He is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday.

A 38-year-old woman and a baby were taken to hospital as a precaution, police said.
St Leonard’s Street was closed at the junction of St Leonard’s Place and Lutton Place.
A Police Scotland statement read: “Around 9am on Saturday, June 21, 2025, we were called to a report of a disturbance at a property on St Leonard’s Street, Edinburgh.
“Specialist officers, including firearms officers, attended and a 46-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.
“A 38-year-old woman and a baby were taken to hospital as a precaution.
“The man is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday, June 23.”
