Google MapsA man has appeared in court charged with the rape of a teenager at park in Edinburgh.
Emergency services were called to reports of an 18-year-old woman having been seriously sexually assaulted in the Montgomery Street area around 10.30pm on April 29.
A 31-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the incident.
Eduardo Lopes, from Somerset, appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Thursday charged with rape.
He made no plea during his appearance and was remanded in custody.
Lopes is due to appear in court again within the next eight days.
