A man has died after emergency services were called to a beauty spot in East Lothian.
Police Scotland confirmed officers attended at Whim Road near Gullane Point around 1.25pm on Sunday to the death of a man.
Dunbar Coastguard, Fisherrow Coastguard, North Berwick Coastguard, Rescue Team, and RNLI North Berwick Lifeboat also responded to the serious incident near Gullane Point.
A Coastguard search and rescue helicopter was also stood down before arrival on scene.
Officers say the death is being treated as unexplained, but there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 1.25pm on Sunday, March 22, 2026, emergency services attended at Whim Road, Gullane following the death of a man.
“His death is being treated as unexplained, however, there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.
“Enquiries are ongoing.”
Dunbar Coastguard said on Facebook: “We thank walkers and golfers for giving us the space to work. All units are now off-site.”
The Scottish Ambulance Service has been contacted for comment.
