A 36-year-old man has died in police custody after being arrested.
The Crown Office has ordered an investigation into the man’s death, which happened at Kirkcaldy Police Station in Fife on Thursday.
The Police Investigations and Review Commisioner is carrying out the Crown-led probe into the circumstances surrounding the death.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “The Police Investigations and Review Commissioner (PIRC) is carrying out a Crown directed investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of a 36-year-old man who was taken into custody at Kirkcaldy Police Station on Thursday, 17 September, 2020.
“Police Scotland will co-operate fully with the PIRC’s enquiries.”
