A man has been found dead near a secondary school hockey pitch in East Lothian.
Officers were alerted after a man was found unconscious on Faside Road, Tranent, at around 6.55am on Monday.
Emergency services were called and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police confirmed that the man’s next of kin has been told, and said there do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the incident.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 6.55am on Monday, March 17, police received a report a man was found unconscious on Faside Road, Tranent.
“Emergency services attended and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
“His next of kin has been informed.
“There do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances.”
