A man has appeared in court charged with an attempted murder in Fife.
Officers were flagged down to a 42-year-old man lying outside a property in Methil Brae, Leven, at about 5.15pm on Monday.
Police said he was found with stab wounds to his leg and is in a critical but stable condition at Ninewells Hospital in Dundee.
Kenneth Sparling, 44, from Fife, appeared at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court on Wednesday accused of attempted murder in connection with the incident.
He was also charged with possessing a banned firearm.
He made no plea and was released on bail pending a further court appearance.
