A man has been taken to hospital after a rush hour crash which shut down a portion of the M8.
Emergency crews were called to the scene just before the motorway’s junction two, in West Lothian, at around 3.55pm on Friday.
Police Scotland said one man had been taken by ambulance to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. His condition is currently unknown.
Lane two on the westbound carriageway was closed for around three hours, leading to delays of up to an hour.
The area was reopened at 6.39pm.
A spokesperson for the force said: “Around 3.55 pm on Friday, April 14, police received a report of a one vehicle crash on the M8 Eastbound, just before junction 2 at Livingston, West Lothian.
“One man has been taken by ambulance to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.
“Enquiries are ongoing.”
