Man suffers stab wounds to leg in street attack

A 37-year-old man was taken to hospital after being stabbed in the early hours of Monday.

A man has been stabbed on the leg during a street attack in East Lothian.

The 37-year-old was on Newbigging in Musselburgh at around 1.40am on Monday when he was attacked by another man.

Emergency services attended and he was taken to hospital in Edinburgh where he was treated for stab wounds.

Police are now looking to identify a man who was in the area during that time.

He is described as being around 5ft 8in tall with a heavy build and a shaved head.

The man, who was dressed all in black, was last seen walking from Newbigging onto the High Street.

Detective Constable Mark Asquith, of Dalkeith CID, said: “Our enquiries into this incident are ongoing and we would urge anyone who may have seen a disturbance or who has any other information to come forward.

“We would also ask anyone who driving in the area around that time to review any dashcam footage they have and let us know if you may have anything which could be of use.”
