A man who died after being hit by a car in Grangemouth has been identified four days on from the incident.
Emergency services were called to Newlands Road around 11.15pm on August 17 following reports of a crash involving a Ford Fiesta and a male pedestrian.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
He has now been identified as 24-year-old Sean McGinley. His next of kin have been made aware.
Detectives investigating the incident have appealed for the occupants of a dark-coloured vehicle who stopped at the scene immediately after the crash to get in touch.
The occupants, a man and woman, are believed to have spoken with the driver of the Ford Fiesta.
STV NewsThe 35-year-old male driver of the Ford Fiesta was taken to hospital as a precaution and arrested in connection. He has been released pending further investigation.
Sergeant Michael Shillington said: “We know there were a number of witnesses who assisted at the scene prior to emergency services attending.
“Specifically, we’re keen to hear from two people who we believe stopped behind the Fiesta following the crash and spoke with the driver. They are potential witnesses, and we are eager to hear from them.
“Equally, anyone who has relevant dashcam or video footage is asked to provide this at their earliest opportunity.”
