The Scottish SPCA has issued an appeal to find the perfect forever home for a friendly pig in time for Christmas.
Named after the Hollywood star, Kevin Bacon is currently being cared for at the charity’s Edinburgh and Lothians Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre after his owner could no longer care for him.
The four-year-old neutered kunekune is now looking to trot off to new horizons.
Diane Aitcheson, centre manager, said: “We would love to find Kevin the forever home he deserves.
“He would love a home in a farm-type setting in the Edinburgh area with someone who has experience with pigs and the relevant CPH licence to keep them.
“He loves fruit but hates potatoes and is always happily grunting away to anyone who passes.
“Kevin will need an appropriate setup with an insulated shelter that will keep him cool in the summer and warm in the winter, as well as having a suitable fence to keep him secure.
“He likes to play with his treat ball and enjoyed playing with and eating a pumpkin at Halloween. His new owner will need to regularly change his enrichment games to prevent him getting ‘boar-ed’.
“Kevin is a big, friendly chap so might even be suited to a home in a petting zoo or similar where he can get lots of attention and ‘hog’ the limelight.”
