A cancer patient who went viral after a video was shared of her reuniting with her father after spending almost two months apart due to lockdown is in remission.
Mila Sneddon from Falkirk, who had leukaemia, was forced to stay apart from her dad Scott during the coronavirus pandemic as her immune system was weakened due to chemotherapy.
The pair communicated through their kitchen window and would often give each other ‘air hugs’ before they were allowed to reunite.
A photograph of Mila communicating with her father through the window was one of the stand out images in Hold Still, a photography competition run by the Duchess of Cambridge which featured striking images of life during the pandemic.
Little Mila then spoke to the Duchess over the phone, where Kate promised to wear a pink dress when the pair finally met in March 2021.
The Duchess kept her promise and told the youngster when they met at Holyrood House for tea she wanted to give her a “big squeezy cuddle”.
On Tuesday evening, Mila’s delighted mother Lynda announced on Twitter that her daughter was now in remission.
She said: “Scott, Jodi, Mila and I are completely ecstatic this evening, Mila’s bone marrow has shown there is no leukaemia, she is now in remission.
“Bring on the bell ringing on the 31st March when she completes her treatment.
“Thank you all for your love and support.”
