More than 100 jobs have been saved following the collapse of a car sales company.

Leven Cars Group went into administration in the New Year resulting in the loss of 23 jobs at two Borders dealerships.

But 101 of the 139 jobs have now been safeguarded following the sale of the company’s remaining two sites in Edinburgh.

The Rolls Royce and Aston Martin businesses, which operate from Corstorphine Road and Bankhead Drive, have been acquired by Grange Motors.

The Kia, Suzuki and Mitsubishi dealerships, which are also based at Bankhead Drive have been bought by Vertu Motors.

The jobs which were lost last week were at the Kia and Suzuki showrooms in Selkirk.

Joint administrator Stuart Robb at Leonard Curtis said: “We are pleased to confirm the sale of the remaining parts of Leven Cars Group.

“Being able to secure a sale and save so many jobs in such a short timescale is testament to everyone involved, in particular the employees who have been extremely patient and understanding throughout the sale process.

“We would like to thank them for their support over the past two weeks and wish them every success in their new roles.”
