A motorcyclist has died following a crash with a van in Falkirk as police appealed for more witnesses.

Officers were called to Bellsdyke Road at the junction with Kincardine Road in Larbert around 11.50am on Thursday to reports of the collision.

The 67-year-old male rider was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver of the van was uninjured.

The road was closed for around six hours while officers carried out investigations.

Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances, and officers are appealing for witnesses.

Road Policing Sergeant Scott Kirkpatrick said: “My thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died. We will continue to offer them support as our investigations continue.

“We’ve already spoken to a number of witnesses but I’d like to appeal to anyone else who saw what happened or has information which may assist our enquiries.

“Similarly, if you have dashcam footage of Bellsdyke Road around 11.50am yesterday, please review this and bring anything of significance to our attention.”
