A motorcyclist has died following a crash with a van in Fife.

A white Mercedes Citan van and a BMW S1000 motorcycle collided on the A911, near the junction with the B9130 for Markinch, around 1pm on Friday.

Emergency services attended and the rider of the motorcycle, a 48-year-old man, died at the scene.

No other injuries were reported.

The road was closed for over seven hours to allow investigations to be carried out.

Police are now urging any witnesses or anyone driving in the area near the time to get in touch.

Sergeant Chris Anderson, of Police Scotland’s Road Policing Unit, said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died.

“Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and anyone who can assist is asked to get in touch.

“If you were driving near the area at the time and have a dash-cam that could assist, then please make contact with officers.”

“Anyone who can help is asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 1487 of Friday, May 22, 2026.”
