Negotiators and armed police attend stand-off at home

Armed officers and negotiators were called to a stand-off at a Fife home on Sunday.

Emergency services were called to a property on Landale Gardens in Burntisland at around 6.15pm following reports of concern for a man.

Specialist police resources were dispatched to attend the incident.

Officers charged a 60-year-old man in connection and he is due to appear in court at a later date.

There were no reported injuries following the incident.

A report is due to be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 6.15pm on Sunday, March 22, 2026, we received a report of concern for a man within a property on Landale Gardens, Burntisland.

“Specialist resources including firearms officers and negotiators attended.

“No-one was injured.

“A 60-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection and will appear at court at a later date. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
