A racist far-right group has confirmed it is attending protests outside a former hotel in Falkirk, which is being used to house asylum seekers.
The latest demonstration outside the Cladhan Hotel took place on Saturday. Police charged one 18-year-old man in connection with culpable and reckless conduct.
Among those who attended the demonstration, organised by local campaign group Save Our Future and Our Kids Future, were members of the Patriotic Alternative Scotland branch.
Patriotic Alternative (PA) is a white nationalist group founded by former BNP youth leader Mark Collett.
In a documentary, released by Channel 4 in 2002, Collett was caught on camera referring to Africans and homosexuals who died due to HIV-AIDS as “AIDS monkeys”.
The far-right group opposes all immigration unless they share the same ethnic background or can prove British ancestry.
According to PA, “white South Africans” would be among the groups granted asylum due to their “descent from European nations”.
In a post on its Telegram, the group said: “Patriotic Alternative Scotland continues to attend the Falkirk Protest outside the Cladhan hotel.”
A photo shows members holding a “deport all illegal immigrants” banner and with leaflets regarding the Great Replacement conspiracy theory.
The theory is the view that white indigenous European populations are being replaced by non-European immigrants.
The recent demonstrations outside the hotel come after a 22-year-old resident, Muhammad Sheikhi, appeared in court charged with two sexual assaults.
He has been remanded in custody.
