EasyJet has launched a new luggage collection service at Edinburgh Airport, the first of its kind in Scotland.
Travellers flying with the airline through Edinburgh Airport will now be able to check in their luggage from home.
A courier will then collect checked luggage from passengers’ homes, offices or hotels the night before their flight.
The scheme allows travellers to proceed straight to security and avoid long check-in queues.
The service will be the first of its kind in Scotland, following a successful rollout of the scheme at London Gatwick and Geneva airports in collaboration with Airportr.
Bosses say the new service will give travellers peace of mind and convenience while travelling through Scotland’s busiest airport.
Peter Barnes, chief operating officer at Edinburgh Airport, said: “We’re always looking at ways to make travel easier for our passengers, and this new service from easyJet and Airportr does exactly that.
“Being the first airport in Scotland to offer home luggage collection gives passengers even more choice and convenience, particularly during the busy summer period when many people are heading away on holiday.”
Kevin Doyle, EasyJet’s UK country manager, added: “Making travel as easy as possible for our customers is at the heart of everything we do, which is why we’re really pleased to be introducing Airportr’s services for our customers flying from Edinburgh Airport.”
