Newborn alpacas enjoyed a cuddle with their mothers as they soaked up the Scottish sunshine in the Borders.
Proud mums Nunavut, seven, and Iqaluit, five, have been nursing their babies after they were born on May 29 and June 1.
The tiny furballs will soon be joined by three more babies due in the coming month.
It will be another three weeks – when all five have been born – until they are given names.
The alpacas live at Velvet Hall Alpacas in Innerleithen and will be weaned in six months.
Enthusiasts Stuart Ramsay, 56, and wife Jean, 65, started out in 2013 with four males – but they brought in some females and started breeding.
Dad-of-one Stuart said: “We’ve had two babies so far.
“They’re on their mothers’ milk just now. They’ll be weaned off that in six months.
“These wee ones are just starting out. They were eight-and-a-half kilos which is a good weight for a baby alpaca.
“We’re not farmers, I’m an engineer and Jean works in a hospital pharmacy.
“It’s been a steep learning curve, but we got some females and started breeding and took it from there.
“It’s been good fun.”
