A little lamb born with deformed front legs has been given a second chance after a wildlife sanctuary agreed to take her in.
Oreo, who is mostly black with a little smudge of white on her forehead, was born a week ago and had been cared for by farmer William Arbuckle.
He reached out to Five Sisters Zoo in West Lothian for help and it was thought it may be kindest to put the poor lamb to sleep.
However she has stunned staff by beginning to walk and instead the zoo has pledged to give Oreo all the specialist care she requires.
In a Facebook post, Five Sisters Zoo said: “Today we were asked if we could help this little lamb, she has deformed front legs and it was questionable if it would have been kinder to put her to sleep.
“The farmer, William Arbuckle has nurtured her since she was born one week ago, and she seems to be getting stronger and can now walk a little.
“We have decided she deserves a chance at life and will give her all the specialist medical care she requires.”
