A tawny owl that was found in a “sorry state” has been released back into the wild after a “lovely spa bath” courtesy of the Scottish SPCA.
The animal welfare charity said the bird was “found in a chimney, skin and bone, covered in soot and grime with inflamed eyes”.
A spokesperson from the Scottish SPCA said: “Thankfully her vision was okay and we treated her to a lovely spa bath and prescribed some much-needed medication.
“We kept an eye on her in our outdoor aviary as she built up her flight strength and regained weight.”
The owl was recently released back into the wild on a “warm spring evening” and will be monitored by the Falkirk Wildlife Conservation Group.
