Two paramedics were rushed to hospital after a crash in Edinburgh.

Shortly after 8pm on Saturday, an ambulance which was on its way to hospital carrying a patient was involved in a collision with a vehicle on Drumbrae Terrace.

Two crew members were rushed to hospital following the incident.

The patient on board was conveyed to Western General Hospital by another ambulance and two other patients were conveyed to NERI.

A 58-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with a road traffic offence.

He is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court at a later date.

A spokesperson for the Scottish Ambulance Service said: “One of our ambulances en-route to hospital was involved in a road traffic collision on Drumbrae Terrace in Edinburgh at 20.10pm on Saturday.

“The patient on board was conveyed to Western General Hospital by another ambulance and our two crew members were conveyed to New Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.

“Two other patients were conveyed to NERI.”

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 8.05pm on Saturday, 10 May, 2025, officers received a report of a two vehicle crash on Drum Brae North, Edinburgh.

“A 58-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with a road traffic offence and is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court at a later date.”
