People have been urged to avoid a wooded area after the “unexplained” death of man in the early hours of the morning.
Officers were called to Bankton Lane in Livingston at 2am to reports of concern for a person.
Emergency services pronounced a man dead at the scene.
Police Scotland said the death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing.
Members of the public have been urged to avoid the area, although police said there is no wider risk.
Officers remain in attendance and Bankton Lane, Bankton Glade and the surrounding footpaths are closed.
“We would ask people to avoid the area and seek alternative routes,” Police Scotland said.
