A person was evacuated from a Fife flat block by fire crews following a deliberate blaze.
Emergency services were called to the building on Inverkeithing’s Church Street around 9.43pm on Tuesday.
Four fire engines were sent to the scene, and crews led one person out of the building. They did not require medical treatment.
Investigators believe the blaze was deliberately set in the close. Investigation into the incident are still ongoing.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 9.55pm on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, police were made aware of a fire within a close in Church Street, Inverkeithing.
“No one was injured in the incident, and early indications are the fire was set deliberately. Enquiries are ongoing.”
Fire crews left the scene after making the area safe.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 9.43pm on Tuesday, May 20 to reports of a dwelling fire in Inverkeithing.
“Operations Control mobilised four appliances to the town’s Church Street, where firefighters were met by a fire within a common stairwell.
“One casualty was led to safety by firefighters, but did not need any medical assistance.
“Firefighters left the scene after working to make the area safe.”
