A walker has been taken to hospital after falling from a sea cliff in Fife.
Emergency services were called to the Elie Chain Walk around 11am on Thursday.
The popular route forms part of the Fife Coastal Path and requires walkers to traverse jagged cliffs with the help of vertical chains anchored into the cliff-face and foot and handholds to reduce the risk of falls.
The 500m route comes with several dangers, including becoming trapped by the incoming tide, being struck by falling rocks, and the risk of falling.
The Scottish Ambulance Service took one person to the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy.
A spokesperson said: “We received a call at 11.41am to attend an incident at Elie Chainwalk.
“An ambulance was dispatched to the scene, and one patient was transported to the Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy.”
