A man was taken to hospital following an incident involving a tram in Edinburgh.
A multi-agency response was called to Constitution Street in the city around 1.35pm on Friday afternoon.
Police reopened the road at around 5pm.
A 66-year-old man was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary by ambulance following the incident, the Scottish Ambulance Service confirmed.
The patient’s condition is unknown at this stage.
Fire crews also attended the scene and were later stood down shortly after 3pm.
Police said the road was closed at its junction with Queen Charlotte Street and people have been urged to avoid the area.
A police spokesperson said: “Constitution Street is closed at the junction with Queen Charlotte Street in Edinburgh following a report of a concern for person received around 1.35pm on Friday, November 7.
“Emergency services are in attendance and the public are advised to avoid the area.”
An SAS spokesperson said: “We received a call at 13:33 to attend an incident on Constitution Street, Edinburgh. We dispatched an ambulance, three special operations response team (SORT), a paramedic response unit (PRU), a critical care paramedic (CCP), and an air ambulance to the scene.
“We transported one patient to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.”
