Police have launched an appeal for witnesses after a crash on the A92 saw an officer airlifted to hospital with serious injuries.
The incident, which happened around 1.45pm on Thursday near Crossgates in Fife, saw a transporter collide with a stationary police car – forcing it off the road and into a ditch.
Inside the vehicle – a BMW X5 – was a police officer, who had been helping three women with a broken down car.
The officers, in his 40s, was airlifted to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee, while one of the women sustained minor injuries.
