Police have charged a man in connection with the death of 26-year-old Aimee Jane Cannon.

Ms Cannon was found with a number of serious injuries at a property in West Calder on Saturday, May 7.

Her body was discovered by officers at an address on Learmouth Crescent at around 6.35pm and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police Scotland have now confirmed that a 25-year-old man has been charged in connection to her death.

He is due to appear at Livingston Sheriff Court on Wednesday, May 11.

Speaking earlier on Tuesday, Ms Cannon’s friend, Shannan Jai, said that her death would be “felt throughout the whole of the community”.

She told STV News: “She was the life and soul of any party. Aimee had a heart of gold and an infectious laugh.

“Anytime we were together she had me in fits of laughter, she was so funny and didn’t even know it just by being herself.

“West Lothian has lost a diamond of a girl.

“Aimee left her mark wherever she went, and nobody will forget her. I will cherish the memories we have until we meet again. Fly high princess.”

Another friend, Jadelee Smith, said: “Our beloved friend Aimee. Your life here on earth was just beginning for you and the kids.

“I just can’t believe you are gone forever, missing you so much and I pray you knew how loved you were by all of us. Sleep tight my angel in the sky.”

Glo tanning & Beauty, the salon where Ms Cannon worked, shared a message on social media page saying they were “heartbroken”.

The post read: “I would like to thank every single one of you for all your messages. Your support means so much at this very heart-breaking time.

“I have passed all these messages on to Aimee’s devastated Family.

“Aimee was very much-loved part of our team here at Glo tanning & Beauty. We are going to miss our girly chats and lots of belly giggles. That laughter will stay with us forever.

“We will be back open today, and we will try get through these extremely hard days the best we possibly can.”
