Police are investigating social media videos of targeted vandalism at two buildings in Edinburgh.

The incidents happened at 1.50am and 3am on Sunday at offices belonging to security company Securitas and aerospace firm Leonardo UK.

Footage shared on social media by a group taking responsibility for the attacks shows individuals wearing balaclavas smashing windows and desks with hammers and spray painting walls.

The post, on X, suggested Leonardo UK was targeted because it manufactured equipment for the Israeli armed forces, while Securitas was targeted for providing security.

It read: “Securitas provide security and cover for Leonardo’s Edinburgh factory, which makes laser targeting systems for Israel’s F-35 fighter jets.”

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “An investigation is under way following two reports of vandalism in Edinburgh on Sunday, October 5, 2025.

“Officers were contacted around 1.50am to a report of red paint being sprayed onto a building in Crewe Road North.

“A second incident of windows being smashed at a property in Cliftonhall Industrial Estate was received around 3am on Sunday morning.

“Enquiries are ongoing to identify those responsible.”

Securitas and Leonardo UK have been contacted for comment.
