A man has been killed after being hit by a car in a town high street in Fife.
The 46-year-old pedestrian was struck by a grey coloured Audi on at the High Street in Cowdenbeath while crossing the road at around 8.30pm on Thursday.
Emergency services pronounced him dead at the scene.
The driver of the Audi did not stop, and drove off in the direction of Perth Road.
The road was closed for several hours while investigations were carried out and enquiries remain ongoing to locate the car involved.
Detective inspector Kieran Marsh said: “Enquiries are ongoing to locate the car and whoever was driving it. I would appeal to anyone who was in the area and has any information or dash camera footage to contact police.
Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 3653 of September 14, 2023, or via crime stoppers on 0800 555 111.
