Police have appealed for information after a gas canister fell from a vehicle on the M90.

The incident was reported around 10.50am on November 12 on the northbound lane near Bridge of Earn.

Emergency services were sent to the scene, and the road was closed for nearly two hours while the item was recovered.

Officers are now looking to trace the driver of the vehicle responsible and have asked any drivers who witnessed anything to come forward.

Constable Mathew Ross said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of this incident and to trace the vehicle involved.

“I am asking anyone who was travelling on that part of the M90 at the time and saw anything to get in touch. Similarly, any drivers with dash-cam footage which may have captured what happened should contact us.
