A prison officer has been seriously injured in an attack outside HMP Glenochil in Clackmannanshire.
The 51-year-old victim suffered a slash to the leg during the incident at around 7.15am on Friday.
He was taken to Stirling Community Hospital for treatment.
Police have arrested a 36-year-old man in connection with the attack.
A force spokesperson said: “Around 7.15am on Friday, August 14, police were called to a report of a man having been assaulted outside Glenochil Prison.
“Shortly afterwards a 36-year-old male was traced by local officers and arrested in connection with the incident.
“A 51-year-old man was taken to Stirling Community Hospital for treatment to a serious leg injury and enquiries are ongoing.”
