An investigation has been launched after a 13-year-old pedestrian was knocked down and a vehicle fled the scene on Sunday.

Emergency services were called to Rullion Road in Penicuik at around 6pm following reports of a collision involving a white vehicle and a teenager.

The vehicle was seen travelling towards the Queensway following the incident.

Those who witnessed the crash are urged to contact Police on 101, quoting incident number 2502 of the February 2 2025.

Drivers with dashcam who were on Rullion Road around that time have been asked to check their footage with a view to assisting officers.
