Properties raided as police wearing riot gear execute warrants

Two properties in Fife have been raided by police wearing protective equipment on Wednesday.

Warrants were executed by officers at addresses on Cairns Street East and Lawson Gardens in Kirkcaldy.

Footage from the scene shows police walking away from a building holding what appears to be a sledgehammer and battering ram.

Uniformed officers can be seen standing outside a boarded-up home whilst others enter the property.

The nature of the investigation is not yet known; however, enquiries are ongoing.

Kirkcaldy community policing sergeant Jonathan Lister said: “On the morning of Wednesday, December 4, 2024, we executed search warrants at addresses on Cairns Street East and Lawson Gardens in Kirkcaldy.

“Enquiries are ongoing.”
