A Qatar Airways flight bound for Edinburgh was diverted following an on-board emergency.
Flight QR029 from Hamad International Airport in Doha to Edinburgh Airport was due to arrive in the Scottish capital on Tuesday, October 15.
However, the pilot had to divert the craft to Vienna International Airport in Austria due to a medical incident.
The passenger was transferred from the flight to a medical facility for treatment. After the individual was safely taken off the plane, the journey to Edinburgh resumed.
A spokesperson from the airline said: “Qatar Airways can confirm that flight QR029 travelling from Hamad International Airport to Edinburgh Airport on 15 October 2024 was diverted to Vienna International Airport due to a medical emergency on board.
“After the passenger was transferred to a health facility in Vienna for further treatment, the aircraft continued to Edinburgh where it landed safely.
“Qatar Airways’ highest priority is the health and safety of its passengers and staff.”
