Two schools in Fife are on high alert following positive cases of coronavirus.
On Sunday the health board confirmed that an individual linked to Sinclairtown Primary School in Kirkcaldy and a student at Lochgelly High School are self-isolating at home after testing positive for Covid-19.
Both individuals are said to have “mild symptoms” and are in quarantine with their household members.
NHS Fife said there is no evidence of transmission within either of the schools and the “risk to pupils and staff remains low”.
As a precaution, all pupils from class P1A, P4 and some children from P2 at Sinclairtown Primary have been ordered to stay off school from Monday and self-isolate for two weeks.
At Lochgelly High School, only those who have been identified as being in close contact with the affected pupil have been asked to quarantine.
A spokesperson from NHS Fife said: “Anyone who develops any of the established symptoms of the virus, such as a fever; or a loss or change in taste or smell; or a new and continuous cough, should arrange testing using the UK Government Citizens’ Portal.”
