A sex attacker who preyed on four traumatised women has been jailed for 13 years.
Anthony Gibson – already a convicted rapist – was sentenced at the High Court in Glasgow.
Gibson, 37, was earlier guilty of ten charges involving a 17-year campaign of abuse between 2006 and 2023.
The crimes occurred in Edinburgh, Midlothian and South Lanarkshire.
The catalogue of physical and sexual violence included rape and assault as well as stalking.
One woman was pushed onto a road causing her to fall into the path of oncoming traffic.
Sentencing, Judge David Young KC remarked on the “severe psychological harm” suffered by the women.
He said he had considered making Gibson the subject of an Order for Lifelong Restriction, but had decided against that.
The judge added: “A significant sentence nonetheless has to be imposed as well as a period of supervision on licence.”
As well as the 13-year jail term, Gibson will be monitored for a further six years on his release.
Non-harassment orders banning him from approaching or contacting three of the women for an indefinite period were made.
A similar order against the fourth woman will last for 20 years.
