Residents evacuated and street closed after suspicious item found 

A street in Edinburgh has been closed, and residents evacuated due to a report of a potentially suspicious item.

Emergency services, including bomb disposal experts, were called to Restalrig Avenue between Loganlea Avenue and Loganlea Drive on Monday afternoon following the discovery.

A police cordon is in place, and a number of properties have been evacuated.

The public is urged to avoid the area.
