Road closed as fire crews battle derelict church blaze

A road has been closed in a village near Falkirk as fire crews battle a derelict church blaze.

Emergency services were called to Main Street in Camelon at around 3.15pm.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service has sent four engines and a height appliance to the scene in an effort to extinguish the flames.

Officers have closed Main Street as work on the blaze continues.

Diversions are in place along Hamilton Street. Members of the public have been urged to avoid the area.

Images from the scene show crews battling the blaze, and the church roof is completely destroyed.
