A robber sprayed a woman in the face with a substance during a shop raid.
The man targeted the Post Office premises in Alloa’s Mill Road at around 5.15pm on Thursday.
When the employees refused to hand over money, the robber sprayed the 44-year-old female worker and then attempted to assault her 25-year-old male colleague.
The woman was taken to Forth Valley Royal Hospital for treatment, where the substance was found not to be harmful.
A number of items were taken during the robbery in Clackmannanshire.
The suspect – who used a dark-coloured scarf to mask his face – had a plaster on his right cheek and was last seen running off towards Tesco with an Asda bag.
Police believe he is aged between 40 and 50, around 6ft, with a shaved head.
Detective inspector David MacGregor said: “This was a frightening experience for both members of staff.
“Extensive enquiries are ongoing to identify the man responsible.
“Anyone who believes they may have information which could help identify the man or who was in the area at the time of the robbery is urged to contact police as soon as they can.”
